SC leaders discuss mosquito season
SC leaders will convene on Tuesday for a joint meeting to discuss how to better manage mosquitoes in their areas.
The meeting comes as state officials have warned of a mosquito season that could last through the end of the year.
The Charleston City Council voted on Monday to adopt a five-year mosquito control plan for the city.

In South Carolina, the National Weather Service says mosquitoes can transmit the H5N1 coronavirus from person-to-person, but not direct contact.
A similar warning was issued for Charleston, where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends keeping windows closed and away from children and pets.
